MARY ANNE ZAMMIT

The Journey Home

Do not wait for me.

Do not wait for the train to stop at the next station.

It will not stop.

Neither will it go back.

This journey is more intensive than its destination.

It opens new paths, new revelations.

Do not wait for me.

Do not wait for this woman who has chosen to dwell in her silence.

This is the journey where I do not lose my dreams.

Where the world knows me well.

Poet's Description

The poem Journey Home describes the situation of a woman who wants to escape from past love. She is moving in a journey within herself where only she knows the destination. Through my poems I aim to write about the emotions of women, of love and passion. I like to explore also the inner journey of the soul, the conflict between passion and solitude.

Poetry is the language of the soul and my aim is to understand it.
