Artist's Statement

When I started on this project, I was reminded of the place where this photo takes place in; Jiufen, Taiwan. I have been there a dozen times, and I loved it every single time. I thought the best way to portray this alleyway in Jiufen was with charcoal, and that's what I did the artwork in. I had tried to capture the feeling of the place, with the rural countryside feeling.
